The attendance was the third highest in the seven year history of Bears and Eagles Riverfront Stadium.

Bears catcher Victor Valencia and second baseman Matt Brunson led off the bottom of the seventh with back-to-back walks. After shortstop Liu Rodriguez was hit by a pitch to load the bases, left-fielder Jose Herrera grounded out to first base to cut the deficit to 5-4. Designated hitter Dario Delgado followed with a sacrifice fly scoring Brunson to tie the game, and center-fielder Anthony Sanders ripped a two-out RBI single scoring Rodriguez to give the Bears the lead.
