Sharks Outrun Roadies 4-3 in 12 (7/1)CAMDEN, N.J. --- In only his second game as a Riversharks, Alejandro Freire launched a solo home run to left to help power the 全harks over the Road Warriors 4-3 in twelve innings. In the top of the second the 全harks put the first run on the night on the board. Brad Strauss led off the inning with a walk with John Pachot following up with a single to advance Strauss. The bases were then loaded as Lino Connell demonstrated patience at the plate to draw the second walk of the inning. Richie Barrett knocked Strauss in with a single to left. In the third, Strauss added the second 全hark run with an RBI double, scoring Freire The Road Warriors notched their first run in the sixth on an RBI double from Nick Ortiz to score Sandy Aracena, who reached on a single. The second Warrior run came in the seventh as Jason Bryan singled off starter Jon McDonald. On the same play, Bernie Gonzalez crossed the plate on an error by Pachot. McDonald pitched eight innings for the 全harks, not allowing a hit until the fifth, getting four strikeouts and giving up one earned run. The 全harks regained the lead on the home run from Freire, 2-for-5 with two runs scored, in the eighth. The top of the ninth saw a Warrior comeback, but they failed to overtake the 全harks, tying the game at 3-3 on a single by Aracena to score Huggins, who lead off the inning with a single. The game headed into extra innings with the score locked at 3-3. The Warriors stranded two runners in the top of the tenth as Denny Abreu hauled in a fly ball off the bat of Manuel Mejia. The score remained tied at three apiece until the bottom of the twelfth. Shaun Skrehot reached base on an error and moved to second as Freire was given an intentional pass. Abreu, 4-for-6, drove Skrehot in on an RBI single to left to end the game.
