ROAD WARRIORS DOWN SURF IN 10ATLANTIC CITY _ The Road Warriors continued to give the Atlantic City Surf trouble as they beat the Surf 3-2 in 10 innings Wednesday night on a home run by Jason Bryan off Surf righthander Ben Grezlovski. The Road Warriors are 5-6 and now have won five of the 11 games played between the two teams this season. Atlantic City wasted another strong pitching effort from Ryan Schurman who no hit the Road Warriors through five innings. Schurman only gave up two runs on three hits over eight innings but once again suffered from lack of run support as Atlantic City could only get two runs off former Surf hurler Kyle Goldwater, who worked seven innings for the Road Warriors and only allowed four hits while striking out four. With the score tied at two the Surf had the bases loaded and one out in the bottom of the ninth but the Road Warriors Chris Clem retired Demetrius Heath and Raul Marval to get out of the jam and pick up the victory. Grezlovski, 1-4, took the loss. Melvin Pizarro got his seventh save for the Road Warriors. Complete story at http://www.acsurf.com |
